Standford Road Period Property Renovation
Many of the houses we are instructed to work on have seen much better days – and this previous care home was no exception.
Tired and outdated, this large property had previously been separated into multiple bedrooms and bathrooms to cater for its many care residents. Though necessary, this work had rid the property of its wonderful period architecture and taken away much of its character.
The client wanted us to transform the house into a beautiful yet functional family home. To do this, we stripped the shell back to its bare bones and gave it the full treatment, remaining conscious of the need to restore as many of its original features as possible as we renovated and reconfigured every last detail. The property now benefits from stunning full height skirtings; double glazed timber sash windows that are in keeping with its traditional stylings; and a series of ornate coverings that add a sense of grandiosity to its aesthetic. We really did take the house back in time to create interiors that hark back to its 120-year heritage.
